Be careful if you have ever had an ulcer or acid reflux as it can aggravate those.

I am sorry I can't give you any help with turmeric but I can strongly recommend Capsaicin cream o.o25%
It contains chillies of all things but it really does work also if you have a bad back or joint pain ,consider buying a product called ActiPatch.
It uses electromagnetic Pulse Therapy, a small battery driven magnet is held in place using the Velcro. Bandage( supplied) again I know his item works, I have had Fibro for 20 years plus and this ActiPatch and the cream , work at easing my pain better than any other item I have tried, plus you are also not stuffing your body with yet another drug.
In England the Patch costs around £20 and the makers claim that should give you 720 hours of relief . In my view it's money well spent
Kind wishes

I agree , you must wash your hands with great care when you have been using capsaicin cream, I am sorry it didn't do the job for you BethAcee as you said every case is different.
In my case it was the only cream that gave me any lasting relief . I think that sometimes this horrid illness and the pain associated with it is enough to drive you mad, so sometimes any relief is better than none.
I wonder if one day someone in a lab will come upon a wonder drug, after all something like that happened with shingles. I had a bad attack when I was 25 , that's over 44 years ago and there was nothing that would touch the pain, I noticed the other day in our Doctors surgery an invitation to anyone over 70 to have a free anti shingles injection. It just demonstrates never give up there could be a cure around the next corner.

If you use the capsaicin cream, wear gloves to apply! If you touch your eyes, nose or mouth or even private areas it hurts like crazy and a simple hand wash doesn't remove it all! And also don't apply if you have a rash or cut for the same reason- I didn't find much relief but every case is different so good luck
