I had injections in the same place that you are. I had wonderful results! Is it painful? It is a lot less painful for a lot shorter time than the pain you are in now and it is so worth it. My injections lasted a short time for the 1st injection but after the 2nd one it lasted at least 1 year! It is different for everyone, the 1st injection for you may last a year or more. No way to tell until you have it done. If the first one doesn't work please don't give up and don't be afraid to ask for another one. You are the only one who can decide that. First I'm having a facet joint injection - and it's supposed to only last me one day (if it's what they expect). If that is the case, then i'm actually having an abblation of the nerves done. Not entirely sure what all of that means, but they explained it to me in detail. I'm excited just to at least have "something" done. My back looks horrible from the heat I use on it..... I'm hoping not to have to use heat for an extended period of time. Thank you all for your advice and kind words of encouragement - whether or not they've worked for you or not - it's helpful! Yes, I have had the epidurals, many years ago. They worked for a while, maybe a couple of years. Yes, they were very painful when I got them, but the relief was exquisite while it lasted. Each treatment lasted about 6 to 8 weeks, it varies greatly. I have had so many of them, they no longer work on me, and frankly I don't miss the pain of getting them!

I had 2 epidurals in my lower back for pains in my legs and lower back, and the first 2 days I felt a bit funny, but after that the difference was amazing!

Darling we are talking about steroids. Please do monitor your calcium and make sure you get enough as the steroids leach the calcium from the bones. Hoping for a pain free time of it. Sending love and light.
