Members widely confirmed that IBS is a common experience, with many describing it as a longtime companion to fibromyalgia, often involving both constipation and diarrhea that can alternate unpredictably. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped them manage symptoms, including eliminating gluten and certain FODMAP foods like garlic and onion, taking daily fiber or stool softeners, using products like IB Guard or Mega-Zyme for gas relief, and incorporating magnesium for regularity and overall symptom relief. A recurring theme was the frustrating trial-and-error process of identifying personal triggers, managing stress as a key factor, and the reality of living with overlapping conditions that flare in cycles with no easy solution.

Yep! I was diagnosed with IBS many years before fibro. I've found that garlic and onion are particularly triggering foods for my digestive system but I have yet to do the FODMAP diet in its entirety.
