Tips, Tricks, and Fibro

Posted on September 28, 2018

On MyFibroTeam, the social network and online support group for those living with fibromyalgia, members talk about a range of personal experiences and struggles. Tips and tricks for day to day life are one of the top topics most discussed.

Here are 6 conversations from members on MyFibroTeam about different tips and tricks

1. To deal with flares: "I love to warm my blankets and fluffy socks in the dryer."

2. To ease tense muscles: Use a foam roller. "My body was tightening up, so I welcomed the stretch/foam rolling session, and my body thanked me!"

3. To reduce flares, learn about the food you eat. One member said: "I can not stress enough how important the food you eat is. Go online and Google foods good for joint pain and foods that are bad. Google everything you eat or drink."

4. To manage dry eyes associated with Sjögren’s syndrome: "Use artificial tears or an eye lubricant; regular check-ups with an ophthalmologist (eye specialist); wear protective eye-wear to avoid exposure to the wind or sun."

5. To reduce IBS: many members say they drink peppermint or herbal tea before and after eating to reduce IBS accidents.

6. To fight brain fog: Write down all of your symptoms and triggers when they happen so that you remember to tell your doctor everything.
