Members widely validated the experience of sharp, stabbing breast pain, with many sharing that they had been frightened enough to seek emergency care, only to learn the pain often stems from costochondritis (rib inflammation) or nerve damage associated with fibromyalgia rather than a cardiac or breast-specific condition. Several members offered practical strategies that brought them relief, including reducing caffeine intake, applying gentle pressure or massage to tender areas, keeping the chest warm, and following up with mammograms or specialists to rule out other causes and ease worry. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of fibromyalgia mimicking serious conditions like heart attacks or breast cancer, met with deep relief and gratitude for a community that understands and validates these frightening and isolating experiences.

I have it also the same as @A MyFibroTeam Member and if I apply pressure to mine the pain eases up a bit.

I had strong chest pains wake me up last night shortly before 1 am last. I got up and walked slowly with my cane to the restroom and was having the strangest pain sensation in both breasts. It feel like my breast were all handing down and were totally stretched out to the point of where the skin was just ready to split and they would just tear away from my chest. I just turned 52 and yester they do hang down, but not that far!

It hurt enough that I would have been delighted to have them fall away, so I just went back to bed.

They still feel tender today, but don't have that extremely odd feeling. It made me think of how an apple must separate from the tree and fall to the ground..

Our bodies are SOOOooo weird. :-)

After going to the ER for chest pain earlier this year and having a nuclear exercise test which came out ok, I've been advised to just mention it during my mammogram next year.
