Does Malic Acid Help With Fibro Pain?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I recently read that taking malic acid with magnesium helps to relieve fibro pain. I was wondering if anyone has tried this combo and what are there results? also what dosage do you suggest, I found a bag of malic acid available at amazon.

I was using magnesium but it made my IBS much worse. It helped with the constipation but once that was stable I had very bad diahrea it took me more than a week to get the IBS back to 'normal.' It works well for my sister but she doesn't have IBS.

I haven't had the combo, but I do feel overall better when taking magnesium supplements. And I just read that tart apples contain malic acid, and I often feel better after eating tart apples. Though I think higher doses than 1-2 apples a day would be more beneficial. I haven't tried magnesium/ malic acid as a main source of treatment yet, I still rely on prescription drugs for my worst symptoms.
