Members overwhelmingly validated the experience of painful, hypersensitive skin in response to someone asking if others experience soreness to the touch, identifying it as a common fibromyalgia symptom called tactile allodynia. Many community members described practical coping strategies including wearing the softest, loosest clothing possible like pajamas, t-shirts, and sundresses, avoiding bras and underwear on difficult days, choosing tagless garments, and using soft fuzzy blankets for comfort. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of this symptom, with members sharing the loss of simple pleasures like hugs from loved ones, the inability to enjoy massages, and the frustration of navigating pain that is invisible yet profoundly limiting to daily life and intimacy.

As you see from all the folks who are responding, you are not alone. Sometimes that fact alone makes me feel a little better. The condition is common with fibromyalgia and is called Tactile Allodynia. I find it an incredibly annoying and painful part of this disease. I can't even get a massage because it makes the allodynia super heightened. Here is an article with more information. I hope this helps. Have a blessed and hopefully low pain day :-)
