I keep getting this feeling and the only way I know to describe it, is like a really deep bruise under the skin. It’s sore to touch, happens randomly but most of the time it’s in my upper arm or ribs, and right now it’s also around my collar bone. It hurts to barely touch it. I also have a feeling of skin irritation but there’s nothing there. Not sure what to think.

Members strongly validated the experience of painful, tender spots under the skin that feel like deep bruising despite no visible marks, sharing that this sensation occurs throughout the body including arms, legs, ribs, shoulders, and collar bone. Several members described developing small, sore lumps that are extremely sensitive to even light touch or pressure, with some initially worried about serious conditions before learning these tender points are commonly associated with fibromyalgia and myofascial syndrome. A recurring theme was the relief of discovering they were not alone in this mysterious symptom, along with practical management strategies like Voltaren gel, heat therapy, anti-inflammatories, and Neurontin to help reduce the pain.

I have spots where i cannot stand to be touched and skin hurts like sunburn. This seems to happen a lot with fibro.

Yes! This is a really big thing for me at the moment. My skin is so painful to touch or apply pressure especially in certain tender spots but it all seems to be under the surface, I don't actually get bruises but it feels like I have them all over. My children only have to lean on me slightly or press my skin and I am often wincing or yelping and often feel the pressure for a while after!

I’m with you on this too!! When I put Voltaren on, I’ll rub a spot I had no idea hurt to the touch until this happens and yup, no bruise just sore!!
