I’ve had fibro for many yrs. I receive disability benefits. I had a lawyer. You should know how your attorney gets paid. In the US before you receive your 1st check, Social Security takes out your lawyer’fee & sends it to them. My attorney had the nerve to call me as he didn’t like the fee Soc Sec sent him. He wanted me to pay him more money. Of course I said no way.

Had fibro many yrs. I don’t leave my house except for dr appts. I hurt too much to get dressed & exhausted. I order everything online. Have groceries delivered. Due to slow reflexes & fibro fog I stopped driving 20 yrs ago. I have been in better spirits lately. My dog gives me a reason to keep on. I accepted my plight a long time ago. My body is sick, but my mind is strong. Persevere.

Sherry - I was denied twice. The third time I went before an administrative law judge. I was able to explain what my life was like w/fibro. Several weeks later I was approved.

I was denied 3 times, but I just kept going, I would appeal every time. I did have a lawyer. In fact, at one point, even my lawyer threw in the towel. Said they'd done as much as they could. So they terminated my agreement with them, and i didnt have to pay them. I just got another lawyer and appealed again. Disability lawyers typically don't get paid until and unless you do! If you get one, you just need to make sure that is true with them. Persevere! And advocate for yourself. Keep going to doctors, and getting them to send the information to your lawyer for your records. Anyways, that worked for me, I hope it does for you.
