I get it from time to time with fibromyalgia.I really noticed it when I was constantly working out. I can no longer work out as I can't recover and I don't notice orthostatic intolerance nearly as much now that I'm not constantly flaring. Although I noticed when I am flaring almost any symptom is fair game. Sorry that you are experiencing it. It makes things very challenging. Hang in there hopefully it will improve πβ€οΈ

Orthostatic intolerance (OI) β where symptoms worsen when standing up β can overlap with fibromyalgia. While OI isn't always listed as a core fibromyalgia symptom, the nervous system dysfunction central to fibromyalgia can contribute to it.
Fibromyalgia-related symptoms that may connect to or worsen OI include:
- Fatigue β overwhelming tiredness that doesn't improve with rest
- Dizziness or lightheadedness β linked to nervous system sensitivity
- Heart palpitations β a sense of a racing or pounding heart when upright
- Brain fog β difficulty concentrating or thinking clearly
- Muscle pain and weakness β which can make standing for long periods harder
- Sleep disturbances β poor sleep can amplify all symptoms
These symptoms are tied to how fibromyalgia affects the central nervous system, which regulates many automatic body functions including blood flow and heart rate.
It's worth bringing these specific symptoms up with your doctor, as managing them may require a tailored approach alongside your existing fibromyalgia treatment plan.
