Is it the same there as it is here.
We don't get to book appointments with surgeons or neurologists or any specialist. We have to go to our g.p then they have to refer us to a specialist which can take months. The reason a specialist here would say 'go back to your g.p to get your meds is because that's just how it is done here. We have 18 month waiting lists to see specialists. By the time your appointment comes up it's more than likely they have left the island and you'll get another letter saying 'go back to your g.p to be referred again and when we get a new specialist we will put you on the waiting list.
I used to have a lovely pain specialist and he told me just phone direct and I will see you as soon as I can. I was so grateful for this wonderful man. He would always fit me in the same day. He did all my injections really was an angel. I'd gone into hospital to get injections in my back and when it was time to take me back he told the nurse 'I'll take her back, everyone looked at each other. I thought 'what's going on. He wheeled me back to the ward. I'm like 'spit it out what's going on, I'm not stupid, He said 'I'm leaving, I wanted to concentrate more on the pain clinic side of things and they said no!
I could not believe my ears. Dude you have to fight and get all your pain clients to write letters. I'll write a 100 letters. This is crazy. He'd already been replaced and had to go. Boy I can't believe they got rid of the best doctor on the island. A doctor with a great bedside manor is hard to find now. All they want is the money. They'll usually give anyone anything as long as you have the money. They don't care about the pain. I've seen them laughing and pretend yawning as if to say. 'Here's another one. Then mentioning all the tests that mean nothing other than more money. Here they send stroke victims home and tell them or their families they will get an ap sent through with a neurologist as soon as the tests have come back and are past on to the relevant doctor.
5 days after the stroke I was walking up the road to get my meds and shopping. Didn't matter I couldn't string 3 words together properly or get my balance. 'Oh someone with visit you at home to help you.
I'm still waiting.

Over here where I am, pretty much the same as the u.k I would imagine. No point, There is nothing they can do. Unless you feel the pain is unrelated to fibro.
There are many different pains. If you feel it's fibro pain, Heat ice rest medication. Obviously go if you feel something else is going on. Depending where your pain is. I hope it eases soon. It can become extremely frustrating and stressful. Anxiety will make it worse. Try breathing excersises. In for a count of 4 out for a count of 6 calm the vagus nerve down, That will lower cortisol levels which can highten pain 🌼🪻🥀

As your feelings were hurt with this shoulder Dr., which is extremely important in having to deal with any Dr. and how they talk to you and treat you, do you think that another shoulder Dr. going forward would help?

My rule of thumb is to know that Drs. are there to help us. We should be treated with respect. We pay them for their services.

If a Dr. is not a match, I get another.

I went once. They gave me morphine. It gave temporary relief. I heartily recommend a good pain doctor.
