@A MyFibroTeam Member sleep with a small pillow between your knees if you are sleeping on your sides, and if sleeping on your back roll up a small towel and place under your knees so that they are not straight but not too bent either. I can only sleep on my back now and this is what I have to do. I find if I do roll over onto my side I can manage about 10 min before the pain in my hips drives me crazy.
I used to sleep on my front but I can't do that anymore and I miss it.
I can only sleep on my left side at the moment using a bolster cushion to support me. When that gets too painful I sleep upright on my back using the bolster as a head rest. I alternate this position throughout the night and wake every couple of hours. I would love to sleep all-night.
left side most of the time right side hurts to sleep on
@A MyFibroTeam Member our Temperpedic mattress never worked the way it does on the commercials. I felt every move my husband made from the first night we had it. His side is broken down, my side is just fine and since I'm the one sleeping on it every night, we haven't bothered to look into getting a new mattress yet.
I usually sleep on my sides, but was told this week by the osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal doctor that the pain in my neck and right shoulder are most likely directly r/t sleep position. I've been attempting to sleep on my back with a pillow under my knees and the correct curve to my neck since she got the muscles to release on Tuesday. I've had some success, but I really, really want to sleep on my side! Yes my neck and shoulder haven't hurt since, but it doesn't feel natural when I'm trying to fall asleep and my lower back is still twisted so I'm not flat I'm still leaning to the right. I can't figure out what to do with my hands/arms, either. <(")
For a few years I only slept on my back with my left arm under covers and right against my body. My right arm bent up and holding the covers. I bought a Temperpedic mattress and I usually wake up in the same position. I've been sleeping on my side but would love to be able to sleep on my back with a pillow under my knees. This probably won't help anyone, but it was fun to write.
And about the mattress, you can jump at one end and the glass won't tip over. In the first year of the mattress I seemed to wake up in the same position but I wasn't sure. One night I had one of those eye cover thingy just resting over my eyes. When I woke up in the morning it was still on. That cover always slides off with any motion...mattress magic.
