I’m trying to work on what I can do with each of these conditions. I try to walk at least 3x a week. I’m also trying to get some strength training in, but find that I skip that a lot. Sometimes it feels good and sometimes I feel so exhausted and uncomfortable. I noticed that when I move more, my pain reduces slightly. Unfortunately, my fatigue ramps up and it can take me down for a while. What do all of you do to balance fatigue with pain and still try to get some movement in? CFS can cause some… read more

I set a lot of timers. For example, at first my limit for cooking was 10 minutes, so I’d set a timer for that, then rest for half an hour and then do another ten minutes. I increase it every time I finish the timer and think “that was easy” and I’m now up to 45 minutes of cooking XXX
Very helpful! Sometimes Gracie has to go relieve herself. When she tells me, I have to take her out. I will check out all your suggestions!
Wanted to mention what a fibro doctor said once… “if you don’t sleep well, your muscles don’t repair at night.” So anything that taxes your muscles too much will affect you
Have you checked out any of the chronic fatigue sites online? There’s several good ones on there , I can’t remember their names. I remember reading on several of them saying, that if you push yourself too far, your chronic fatigue will be worse. Try to listen to your body and stop when you feel like it’s too much no matter what. Don’t push past it. I hope this helps you somewhat.
I’ve had fibromyalgia since my teens, which makes that about 60 years. The problem with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue ,is that we have to do the same thing we did the day before, otherwise our muscles don’t work correctly. But the problem is ,we have pain and can’t do that consistently. Also, if we just lay around the house all day for days, we will hurt too. This is an awful condition, and “we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t.” I heard a doctor say once, try to stop the activity “before “ you get in pain. Not as easy as it sounds.
What Fiona explained is the way to do it. But you have to stay consistent, not always easy. A lot of days are out of our control ,due to weather and stress and other illnesses.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I’m going to look into that for sure. Some days my walks make me feel better, like today, and some days I feel like absolute hell. Today was a good day.
