I agree. Besides extreme pain and fatigue, I get nauseous too. Especially when I'm in a flare.

Does fibromyalgia cause loss of appetite?

Loss of appetite isn't typically listed as a direct symptom of fibromyalgia based on current understanding. However, fatigue is one of the most common fibromyalgia symptoms, affecting about 76 percent of people with the condition, and this exhaustion can certainly impact eating habits and meal preparation.

Many MyFibroTeam members describe feeling too tired to cook or even think about food. The overwhelming fatigue can make it difficult to maintain regular eating patterns, which might indirectly affect appetite.

Additionally, some medications used to manage fibromyalgia symptoms can affect appetite as a side effect. If you're experiencing changes in appetite, it's worth discussing with your healthcare provider to determine the cause and ensure you're getting proper nutrition.

Maintaining a balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and unsaturated fats is important for managing fibromyalgia symptoms, so addressing any appetite concerns is valuable for your overall health.
