Members connected over experiencing loss of appetite with fibromyalgia, describing how pain, medications, and emotional strain can suddenly make food unappealing even when they were initially hungry or looking forward to a meal. Several members shared that their eating patterns have shifted to mostly drinking coffee and water in the morning, with hunger not appearing until midday, while others mentioned additional oral symptoms like burning mouth syndrome and painful ulcers that make eating even more difficult. A recurring theme was the frustration of being criticized or misunderstood for not eating, when the loss of appetite is an involuntary symptom tied to chronic pain and illness rather than a choice.

Yes, I lost my appetite pretty much at the beginning along with the endless horrible pain. I knew the pain wasn't right but I knew something was really wrong when I lost my appetite!

My mouth is often sore with small ulcers or broken skin. Unfortunately it is also part of fibromyalgia 💜

I find myself getting hungry only at noonish and mostly drink lots of water and a coffee or tea in the am.

It's true 👍 most of the time I'm having my morning coffee at noontime. Always walking with my water bottle attached to me.
