Members responded with strong solidarity to the question about daily pounding headaches and migraines with fibromyalgia, with many sharing that they experience the same exhausting struggle. Several members found relief through medications like Amlodipine, Propranolol, Almotriptan, and Amitriptyline, while others pointed to helpful strategies like resting in a dark quiet room, staying hydrated with electrolytes, and identifying dietary triggers like gluten and sugar. A recurring theme was the value of seeing a neurologist, as many found that working with a specialist led to preventative treatments that significantly reduced how often migraines occur.

I used to. I finally learned that my true migraines were coming from hidden chemicals I was being exposed to at work.
Later on I got horrible 'pressure-cooker' headaches from myalgic encephalomyelitis and I really wondered of a piece of my skull could crack and blow off of my skull!
I hope you can avoid chemicals and anything else that hurts you!

If it's helpful, here's a resource I've learned a lot from:
https://www.migrainestrong.com
And if you have access to medical care, making an appointment with my primary care physician *just* about migraine was helpful. I got prescribed a medication. I was also prescribed some supplements.

Yes, I was told migraines. I’ve had extensive tests and evaluation with a neurologist who’s wonderful. As of now, there are two symptoms to my condition of Syringomyelia that hes attributed to fibromyalgia and that’s memory issues and headaches. Migraines are common among fibromyalgia patients. He said he’s still thinks it’s more than just a fibromyalgia diagnosis for me but he doesn’t have an answer for it as of now. Syringomyelia is a CNS condition and fibromyalgia is thought to be a CNS as well…. But new research shows that it might also be an autoimmune disease onto itself as well. Only thing I can say is Amlodipine 5mg has been a life saver for me. Truly! No more headaches like before!

See a neurologist for headaches and migraine, that's one of the things they specialize in. Mine put me on a daily preventative med and then a pill for one when I have a migraine. I went from having migraines from almost every day to hardly ever now.
