I was reviewing D3 again. It reminded me how crucial this is to relieving so many symptoms of fibro. I was left confused because 4000 is it itu was said to be the limit, but many you tube videos are talking about 20000 or even 50000 itu. It was advised to take with K2. What level of dose are people taking. How affective has it been?

Members shared widely varying vitamin D3 dosages they take for fibromyalgia, ranging from 1,000 IU daily to prescription-strength 50,000 IU weekly, with many finding that 5,000 IU daily helps maintain optimal blood levels between 50-80 ng/mL. Several members emphasized the importance of regular blood testing to monitor levels, taking D3 alongside vitamin K2 and magnesium for better absorption, and choosing high-quality D3 supplements over prescription D2 which requires conversion in the body. A recurring theme was mixed results on fibromyalgia symptom relief, with some members reporting improvements in fatigue and sleep when levels are optimized, while others noticed no change in pain despite correcting their deficiency.

Hi Peter, I take 1,000 D3, but blood tests show I am not deficient in this - I spend quite a lot of time out in the sunshine which is the natural form of Vit D.
Just as important as Vit D is magnesium, as this is lacking in so many fibro warriors. Check out this link: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8371721/
If you don't take both these then in my opinion, you aren't doing enough to get any relief from fibromyalgia.
There are many types of magnesium. The main ones for fibromyalgia are magnesium glycinate or magnesium citrate. Neither of these will give you diarrhoea like magnesium malate. I take a 500mg capsule at night to also help with sleep.
Google this as there is so much information out there that people are not taking advantage of, and your GP will not in most cases be able to assist you.
All the best.

I was told to take D3 2000mg a day and I am longer low on vitamin D, as long as I take this. I’ve never been told why I’m low though.
