I had a doctor say that if your ribs hurt its because your muscles are tight. I put heat on mine and it helps. I also had extreme right rib pain and have been diagnosed with Non alcoholic fatty liver. Maybe worth checking.
I had rib pain for over a year and had lots of tests, X-rays etc and it turned out to be a symptom of Fibro. It was one of the many symptoms that finally gave me my diagnosis. It’s so painful and gets me down but as others have said, ice or heat helps but I feel your pain (literally) and hope it eases soon.
