Members reflected on what they believe caused their fibromyalgia, with trauma, both physical and emotional, being the most common suspected trigger. Several members pointed to childhood abuse, PTSD, the loss of loved ones, car accidents, and major life stressors like grief and divorce as moments when their symptoms began or intensified. A recurring theme was the connection between mental and physical pain, with many describing anxiety, depression, and body-locking episodes as deeply intertwined with their fibromyalgia journey.

I know exactly HOW I got 'it'! Exposure to 4 of the 7 Cumulatively Disaffective Trigger Sets... Main was a Pathogen - a virus from a co-worker who had a sick kitten...that was the end of my life as I knew it... 33+ years now..

I think mine was due to an abusive father and a breakdown when I was a child. I think the stress was just too much, but, what do I know.
