Okay girls and guys, here I go on several rants
First off, I researched for two hours last night, and 5 hours this morning, and I am convinced that all my doctors are Dumbasses!!! Many of you have heard me tell my story that I was diagnosed approximately a month ago from my PCP, then went to see a Rheumatologist who told me I was only deficient in vitamins B and D, no fibromyalgia! My mom was also in the room, so she no longer believed I did either, nor did my Husband, although I think it… read more

In response to a frustrated member searching for answers about fibromyalgia symptoms like burning mouth and dental pain sensitivity, the community rallied with strong support and practical advice. Several members encouraged finding a new rheumatologist who specifically treats fibromyalgia, going back to the original diagnosing doctor, and advocating for a proper evaluation that includes pressure point testing and ruling out other conditions like lupus. A recurring theme was that members know their own bodies best, and the community reminded the poster not to hate themselves, to limit stress where possible, and that they are not alone in this journey.

@A MyFibroTeam Member Look. Just because someone is a doctor doesn’t mean they are God. Fire the rheumatologist. My father had a doctor and mentioned that he heard a medication he was taking was causing bladder cancer. Doctor had to look up the medication in this little book. Guess who now has bladder cancer? Guess who is no longer in private practice?
30mg of Gabapentin????!!!!! That’s probably like taking Tylenol for all the pain. I would go back to PCP and tell them what happened. I take 900mg of Gabapentin daily.
@A MyFibroTeam Member is right about this doctor being in the dark ages about fibromyalgia. Also right about doing the pressure point exam.
One more thing: you know your body better than anyone else. Not your mother. Don’t bring her with you to appointments anymore. She doesn’t sound supportive at all. And don’t hate yourself either. You are a worthy of love and respect. No human being can deny you that love. ❤️ ❤️🤗😘

Please don't hate yourself,Esloan, for feeling the way you do. We understand completely how you feel. Most of us have been there. You can vent as much as you want and you will get no judgment from any of us. What you'll get is support and knowing that you're not alone. You are a fibro warrior just like the rest of us and we care deeply for one another. Stay strong and be kind to yourself. Sending you an understanding hug.

I'd go back to the first doctor you saw. Peripheral Neuropathy is something I'm more concerned about.... Did you have relevant test done by your neurologist? It's hard to know how concerned to be as if we see a neurologist then we know things are pretty serious. It's just how things are done here. I only got to see a neurologist after the stroke. Am I correct in thinking you can see which ever doctor you want if you book an appointment? It doesn't work that way for us so it's hard to understand sweetheart.
The only reason I say don't look up stuff as that can cause extreme amounts of stress.
Everyone knows here don't Google illnesses as you'll end up thinking alsorts of frightening stuff that may not apply to you.
I would definitely not go to see my doctor with anyone but me. I understand people need support, At the same time this type of thing happens and now your husband and mother believe the doctor and not you.
I knew something was very wrong before I had the stroke and my husband used to come to the doctor with me. Who did he listen to. The doctor who got it all wrong.
I kept saying I'm going to have a heart attack or a stroke and no one believed me even though I nursed for many years. Fibromyalgia won't kill you. If you went to a neurologist and had certain test done for Peripheral Neuropathy. I'd be wanting more answers from that doctor.
Forger your mother just forget her that is more stressful than anything else from what you have said. Get her out of your mind it will cause so much stress it's not worth your health. When you have got the more important health problems taken care of then if possible like I said go back to the first doctor who diagnosed you. As 1 doctor can diagnosis you and as you have witnessed another one will take bloods and say no its not Fibromyalgia. Hence the stress and added pain as your husband and mother being there now not believing you become a worse problem than the actual illness itself.
With love Peps ❤️

Burning mouth is a sign and so is higher pain threshold in facial pain. There are also a million other things it can cause. My son was diagnosed with fibro after a shoulder op. Yet his was awful for 5hrs then just went.
I don't look stuff up as there is so much stuff you'll find on the interweb that doctors have absolutely no idea about sweetheart. I hope things get better soon, One thing that really makes the pain worse is stress. Lauren Ostrowski Fenton does some wonderful meditations that have really helped. Sending love ❤️ Peps
