Members strongly related to experiencing shortness of breath, panic attacks, and worsening anxiety during fibromyalgia flares, with many describing how these symptoms arrived suddenly alongside their fibro diagnosis or intensified during periods of increased pain and fatigue. Several members shared helpful strategies, including using Vicks VapoRub on the chest for breathing relief, taking prescribed medications for anxiety and depression, and talking openly about feelings to prevent stress from building up into full panic episodes. A recurring theme was the challenge of managing overwhelming symptoms while feeling isolated or misunderstood, balanced by the comfort of knowing others in the community face the same struggles and offer warm support.

I had pain in my ribs like my skin was pulling it hurt breath in I do have chronic fatigue my sternum also hurts like it's inflamed.i feel bit
Breathless when I went across rd , maybe I'm nervous I don't like change I need to express how I'm feeling so that I don't suffer with anxiety I need literally to get things off my chest then I don't suffer ,bit difficult when Ur alone at least I do talk on here, that's how I learnt to avoid stress if I talk about it it goes before it becomes a problem hope everyone is ok x

Peter Triggers for panic attacks can include overbreathing, long periods of stress, activities that lead to intense physical reactions (for example exercise, excessive coffee drinking) and physical changes occurring after illness or a sudden change of environment.
