Members connected over the frustrating experience of feeling out of breath from even the simplest tasks, with many describing how this invisible symptom leaves them feeling drained and misunderstood by others. Several members shared potential causes, including weight gain, chronic fatigue as a core fibromyalgia symptom, anemia or low ferritin levels, and coexisting conditions like COPD, with one member emphasizing the importance of getting bloodwork and iron levels checked to rule out treatable causes. A recurring theme was validation that this symptom is real and common in fibromyalgia, along with encouragement to advocate for thorough medical testing rather than dismissing it as just part of the condition.

I also got kicked in the chest by a mule on some gorgeous mountain side in an undisclosed location

Does that count?

Thank you for all the info. I will definitely be looking in to these studies some more. I will also have my Dr check iron I haven't had that checked in awhile just to rule out anemia.

I suggest that anyone with this symptom get a check up and get labs done, including iron, especially ferritin. Mine got very low and it was missed so I had no idea that it was related to iron. Just in case. 🙏
