It seems constant. I have typical costohondritis pain perhaps every 3 months for a few days (sometimes weeks), but I also have constant right lower rib cage pain, sort of wraps around front to back, with sudden stabbing sensations, or just numbness, like a concrete block. Movements, posture, temperature can irritate it, pressure from the seat, or clothing, stress can make it worse. In addition to costohondritis I have intercostal neuralgia.
