Different doctor said I had PTSD from husbands passing (trauma) which causing dizziness and lightheadedness. Personally, it seems to me it is congruent with fibromyalgia issues. Possible?
I was told that vertigo can go hand in hand with fibromyalgia because of the nerve damage in ears. Meclizine ( motion sickness medicine which you can get over the counter) helps me. I can lay down close my eyes and the room will feel like it is spinning. I get it when the weather changes as well. I had laid on my bed and felt the room spinning so fast. I opened my eyes like whoa what the world. Next morning I woke up to take my boyfriend to work and yelled to him I can't take you. He said what's wrong. I was so sick because everything was blurry. I felt like I was gonna step off a cliff. I was freaking out. We called the ambulance and they tried to walk me out and it was hard for me to trust them because to me it felt like I was just suspended in the air. The ambulance ride was torture because I felt like the ambulance was gonna flip over. It was horrible. That was when I was told I had vertigo. If I get stressed or worked up about anything I can start to flare. So trying calming mechanisms is a Must with fibromyalgia.
I get extremely lightheaded with a flare. I think that is very common with this.
Barbara the weakness on my right side lend to my diagnosis of Fibro !! I was in a store and my right side just quit !! I landed on the floor. I was able, with my cane, to get up and make it to my car. I drove to the doc's office and demanded to see him immediately !! He couldn't believe his eyes !! I'd been telling him for at least 2 yrs, but he couldn't see it !! He immediately sent me to a Neurologist who diagnosed my Fibro the next day !! I've never been dizzy, but I lost the strength on my right side often when I was at my worst !! Fibro does weird things to everyone !! No two people have the same symptoms !!!! I really found that if I saw specialists for each of my symptoms I got results !!

postural-orthostatic-tachycardia-syndrome - I think I have the Hyperadrenergic type. Check out Cleveland Clinic’s site. I have coat hanger pain, which can be a symptom of this type of POTS.
