Hi, good day everyone. Wishing you all an enjoyable day. Keep being positive! What coping skills do you use to manage scoliosis? Especially with the muscle spasms

Thanks for your response. I get the back pains every day it fluctuates during severity/intensity during the day and night. Sometimes its unbearable where the muscles become so tight and feels that they are locked making me unable to move until the muscles relaxes. It's difficult to get up and walk or make any sudden movements in this stage. I was given nimesulide by my doctor. I have often tried muscle rubs as well. I have started experimenting with back patches plasters to see if it makes any difference. It feels for me like I'm being crushed between two walls, other times my back feels like it just cant support the rest of my body anymore in other cases my back feels so heavy and tired as if I'm carrying an elephant on my back. I'm a sugar craver as well, I try very hard to limit and monitor my sugar intake which is sometimes a hit or miss for me. I have tried doing gentle stretches also which sometimes help. Thanks for your advice, it was much appreciated and thanks for taking time to respond to me

I have scoliosis at the base of my spine on the coxix (can't think how to spell that hahaha) and that causes the spasms quite badly lately. But I will. Try the tonic water. Thanks for the tip.

I have scoliosis, I don't know what degree of scoliosis I have but I don't get cramps every night. It really depends on what I put in my body everyday. Keep a food diary. What works for me might not work for you. I'm a sugar Craver but I cannot have white sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Read package ingredients before eating something. A chiropractor told me years ago to stay away from fruit juice, especially orange juice and I found that helpful. Maybe you need to take a daily electrolyte supplement that does not contain sugar. When I do get cramps they feel like an animal has their teeth in my leg and I can't shake them off. The only thing that works for me is Highlands leg cramps ointment. I get out of bed and start putting it on and rub it for a good 5 minutes. It takes 5 to 10 minutes and the cramps go away thank goodness.
