Members overwhelmingly confirmed experiencing clicking and popping sounds in their joints, with many noting that the neck and knees are the most commonly affected areas and that the sounds can sometimes be loud enough to resemble a clap. Several members shared that while the popping itself is typically harmless and caused by air bubbles moving around the joints, it can occasionally be accompanied by brief but intense pain that subsides quickly. A recurring theme was uncertainty about whether joint clicking is directly related to fibromyalgia or other conditions like hypermobility syndrome, with some members reporting similar symptoms across generations in their families.

Snap, crackle & pop! My ankles click with every step of the stairs, knees click when I bend it's so loud sometimes it sounds like a clap than a click, hips can sound quite painful at times!.. My children have the same and so has my mum..although I didn't realise it was anything to do with fibromyalgia? The only condition I share with my children and mum is hyper mobility syndrome so assumed it was that, I was told (however true) that it's due to air bubbles trapped in or around the joints but it's harmless.

No disease. Its normal. Its just air squeezing out of your joints when they move, like they burped. Nothing bad or disease related about them.
