How many of you would share with me if you filed for disability eventually and how hard or easy it was to finally be awarded it? Did you have a lawyer? Did you get denied first and appeal? I just began the process on Wednesday and it is a bittersweet decision. I'm torn between feeling relieved and feeling like I had to let my career goals including having an income go. Please share your wisdom my friends.

I filed for disability years ago. It was a long process. Denied right out of the gate. Appeal it is all part of the game. The smartest thing I did was get a disability lawyer. They don’t get paid unless they win.
I won the case and even Negotiated retroactive compensation.
Adjusting to not working and goving up a career I loved was hard. My strong work ethic hung on like a tiger.
wow forgive me for asking again but ur post is exactly like me. im sick of them saying its a inflammatory disease because it isnt. or that it doesn get worse cuz it does
yeah u gotta jump thru hoops
I had heard how hard it is. That's exactly why when I started this process I got an attorney. He doesn't get paid unless I get the disability claim granted. Since he decided to take my case I feel like he's feeling confident we'll get it because why would he waste his time and energy if he didn't think we'd win 🤔
Shoot downhill. I got a lot retro active. What the heck? Is there any chance to get it now?
