Has Anyone In The Group Been Diagnosed With Sacroiliac Joints Pain And Inflammation In The Sacroiliac Joints?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

If you have Sacroiliac joint pain and inflammation, have you been diagnosed with both Fibromyalgia and Ankylosing Spondylitis?

@A MyFibroTeam Member, hi Linda, I was first diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I kept having severe neck, shoulder, back and buttocks pain. Also severe hip bursitis. MRI showed bilateral sacroiliitis, inflammation in SI joints. My rheumatologist diagnosed Ankylosing Spondylitis. I take Humira, celebrex, Cymbalta and sulfasalazine. My pain has improved greatly. I apply heat when in a painful flare. If you don't have a rheumatologist, add one to your medical team. I pray you get pain relief.

I just started dealing with this problem. My insurance denied paying for the cortisone shot. Now in the next phase of fighting insurance. Not another fibromyalgia related thing! Never ends. I too have a terrible time sleeping as no position is comfortable and could not tolerate the physical therapy that I tried. I was crippled for days after a PT session, so I discontinued that.

I suffer from burning pain in my lower back and hips, sometimes extending down my legs. Makes any activity very difficult but also seriously impacts my sleep. I have to keep changing positions to try and relieve the pain. So sleeping is a challenge.
So far I haven’t found anything to help. My rheumatologist says I have severe arthritis in my hip and need a hip replacement but my GP disagrees. He says it isn’t that bad and that the fibromyalgia is making the pain worse. Does this make any sense?

The wait list for pain management in my area is a year to a year and half. I'd like to get injections for my back pain
