When I’m having trouble falling asleep and I can only drink sprite to swallow my pills. I think it could be acid reflux but not sure. My hubby thinks I’m making symptoms up like being dizzy all of a sudden or whatever. Honestly, guys don’t get it. At least, he understands that I’m not ready to look and find a job. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Maybe, I lay down to quickly to go to sleep; after taking medicine. Yes we have more bills than usual with my illness. I don’t go to the doc… read more

Members strongly encouraged the person asking about seeing a gastroenterologist to trust their intuition and get checked out, with several sharing their own experiences of finding real answers through endoscopies, including esophagus narrowing and ulcers. Many community members described helpful strategies like taking pills with yogurt or a small bite of food, propping up at night to reduce acid, and trying natural remedies like Georges Aloe Vera and papaya enzymes. A recurring theme was validating the experience of living with chronic illness, reminding each other not to feel guilty for resting and to advocate for their own health.

I finally followed my intuition and saw a gastroenterologist.. the whole process of the scope was SO worth it. I had a slight closure of my esophagus and he opened it right then. I now prop myself up at night so the acid doesn't restart the esophagus trouble.
Follow your intuition. Hugs.

I have acid reflux from time to time.
Even went to GI Dr. Nothing helped.
My daughter told me to get a natural solution called Georges Aloe. It's not expensive and it's like drinking water. It only took two doses to take the reflux away. Might be something you could try.😁

Iv'e used papaya enzymes if I'm having heartburn and Georges Aloe for when my I'm having any stomach issues. Both are a great to consider.

If you recently had an endoscopy, I don't think you need a gastroenterologist. Did a gastroenterologist do the endoscopy? If not, I would see one. He could have access the the endoscopy report?? You definitely want to deal with this problem before it causes other problems. Good luck!

GERD is a possible diagnosis. Verified by endoscopy.
