I just went to the neurologist for migraines and got cleared as neurologically sound. My rheumatologist suggested I go back because of my problems with my legs. They say that the problem is not fibromyalgia. Should I call and make an appointment?

Members strongly encouraged someone to follow their rheumatologist's recommendation to see a neurologist about unexplained leg problems, with many emphasizing the importance of trusting your gut instinct and advocating for yourself when something doesn't feel right. Several members offered practical advice, including requesting and bringing copies of the rheumatologist's office notes to the neurologist appointment to ensure clear communication between providers, and being persistent in seeking answers even when initial tests come back normal. A recurring theme was the importance of ruling out serious issues early, finding the right specialist who takes your concerns seriously, and remembering that you know your own body best.

I would say yes to making the call. A neurologist can help determine which nerves are causing the issue. I had testing done for neuropathy and found that I don't have it. He believed my back was the problem. He sent me to the neurosurgeon who in turn decided that I have severe spinal stenosis causing leg and foot pain as well as back pain.

Yes you should. If your rheumatologist had recommended it, do it. Can't you see if you can see a different neurologist? Tell them your rheumatologist had told you you have to go back. Let me know how you get on. Gentle hugs
