I think that I only have 5 of these myself 🤣🤣
Seriously, on the bright side this is proof that fibromyalgia IS indeed being researched.
Personally I think the reason that there's such a list of compulsive style behaviors listed is that we were the "go getters" and our society forms us into being factory style performers. No wonder anxiety is high when we can't "perform."
Look, within 5-7 years i truly believe that the mounds of targeted research will not only vindicate each of us from the… read more
Thank you for the fantastic responses so far, this is really creating a dialog. I find the article very credible and my point in posting it is to show the serious list of debilitating medical conditions (and the incredibly complex factors that are inseparable parts of fibro) and that any doctor claiming that this is not real or is a mental condition need to have their licensed revoked.
As proof, check the Social Security Administration website, attorney websites and the veterans administration websites all for their take on fibromyalgia and the Gulf War Syndrome where our USA gov states that fibromyalgia does not even need to be proven as it's an automatic inclusion in the Gulf war syndrome.

Unfortunately they can do all the Research on Fibromyalgia but until these Specialist can say to all the Rheumatologist, as well as MD Doctor's that Fibromyalgia isn't a figment of our Imagination, but it is a real Syndrome.
Hopefully one day these Quacks can look us Straight in the Face and say those Words we have been waiting to hear for so many Years.
Thanks heaps for the information and letting us know what the Research People are saying regarding Fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia has definitely changed my Personality and not for the Better. 😊
Chicken or the egg? I do not imagine the medical profession discarding FM sufferers. Is it possible that an extensive article can be written and never once mention the genuine impact of failed medical care? Not in a single instance? Ever, anywhere? Turned away without treatment, drug formularies that do not cover the most effective medications...I could go on. In the hospital, I was advised to read a book about pain. No one ever considered treating the pain. I knew better than to gripe.
I have the same issue to as I have learned the same way as a child. Not knowing how to emotionally deal with different situations. It is hard to understand different medical/mental issues without research. I am really glad to see that I’m not the only one that deals with many issues and it helps to get through them easier.
So just to summarize thank you for all the information. 🙂
@A MyFibroTeam Member ... This article, I think, is indicative of the "next generation" of attitude toward the conditions that was listed in my original Q&A. In the very last paragraph in this article the author specifically mentions BPD plus several of the conditions that are emotionally reactive in nature. He points to the maladaptative behavior and lists 8 suggestions for revising.
The limited exploration that I have done helps me realize that I learned maladaptative reactions just from watching my parents. Now i see that they learned from their parents so sometimes our reactions aren't even unique, we are just mimicking, like monkeys.
