I don’t know if it’s just me but I have absolutely no patience. It seems so many things and people irritate me. I used to be patient and such a caring and supportive person before fibro.

Members overwhelmingly confirmed that pain and fatigue from fibromyalgia directly fuel irritability, short tempers, and mood changes that feel foreign to who they used to be before illness. Several members shared that exhaustion is their biggest trigger, describing how the relentless fatigue makes them snap at loved ones, lose patience with daily interactions, and withdraw from being the caring, go-to person they once were. A recurring theme was the grief of losing their former selves, the guilt of being grumpy, and the profound relief of knowing they are not alone in these difficult emotional shifts.

Yes it's hard to accept when we're used to being so caring I've come to conclusion sometimes there's just too much on our plates. Just feel I need more me time and it isn't happening. You gals aren't alone

I have found those feelings to increase with the years of being ill. I feel tense and angry more often when pre-illness, I rarely did. For me the fatigue is my trigger to grumpiness. It’s like climbing a mountain and is so taxing both physically and emotionally. It makes me feel useless and robs me of energy to do things I want to. The pain is bad but somehow I manage that better in terms of it’s connection to my mood. I try very hard to stay positive but if I am irritable, I warn my husband I’m grumpy and he is really understanding of this. He sometimes wonders why I’m not grumpy more often given what’s going on with this illness…. 💕

I get very irritated just before a flare up. Specially when I get the exhausted flare up. For me I rather put up with the pain, I can take medication or go to Dr for injections. But when I get so exhausted there is nothing to take. Just try to be by myself cause talking hurts. If you all can understand me there with those feelings. Feel better. Hugs and Prayers

I’m at my most irritable when im tired and in pain, especially if someone says ‘oh youre too young to be in pain, wait until youre my age’ theres a lot of counting to ten and breathing in those days!
