I used to be even tempered and upbeat. Now I am a grumpy beast. My energy is limited and pain is a constant companion. I get irrataed waiting in line, because it hurts to stand. I interupt you when your conversation wanders, because I have a hard time focusing. Get to the point or you will loose me
I get resentful that I miss out on fun activities because my body is ravaged with this unmerciful malady
I brush off sympathy because there is no way you can possibly know my misery.

I dont think its that we are grumpy but rather that we are frustrated by the limitations fibro puts on us. Make time to look after yourself even if its a soak im the bath for half an hour with some candles on x
Yes I think your personality does change. I know I use to be a very happy go lucky person. Now I am several of the seven dwarves. I’m grumpy, sleepy, bashful, and a lot of times dopey. I have just gotten use to it.
Makes depressed and sound mad sometimes.
Definitely Yes I get grumpy especially when I hardly get any sleep, lately I am always tired.
But I agree I think Fibromyalgia has changed my personality, unfortunately I still have a short fuse, no longer trust people, hate crowds. Have a short memory as well, that truly annoys me so much, say something and half an hour later I can't remember what I said.
What truly changed my personality was when I had perimenopause I was angry all the time, a screeching banshee at times.
So hard to live with.
But I still have a short fuse even now.
It certainly isn't a joy having Fibromyalgia, so many things have changed. Especially other illnesses you get as well.

Very good post and question. MY personality is the same, but I’m a lot tougher and stronger from going through everything. I’m more crabby etc for sure because of the pain etc. I stay home if I’m having a bad day...so that I don’t say anything weird or get angry with someone because of the pain. And like you, I take a time out in my bedroom if I can’t take the noise or stimuli...makes me a more pleasant person t live with! Lol!
