Every time I read about fibromyalgia, it describes the pain as a constant throbbing or constant dull ache. That has never really been the case for me. The way my pain shows up is that I will go 6 months feeling totally fine and normal. I'll even start to wonder if I have fibromyalgia at all, despite my diagnosis. Then out of nowhere I'll start having a sharp, stabbing pain in a particular place on my body. It usually only lasts for a few seconds at a time, but it will be in the same exact spot… read more

In the early days of my fibro, I had weeks and months where I felt totally fine. Then suddenly, I would feel tired and achy. I didn’t even know I had fibro then. Since my fibro has worsened, I do get sharp, stabbing pain sometimes… sorry you are having so much trouble..

Yes!!! I get this!! When i was first diagnosed i had exactly that, a sharp stabbing pain normally lower back, left side in my ribs just under my boob or lower left side abdominal pain. I was convinced it was something else because i wasnt having the type of fibro pain described on paper. After many tests and everything coming back normal it was put as a symptom of fibro now 5 years on i still get that aswell as the ache/throbbing. Xx

No, but way back inthe beginning of my fibro life. I would go for some periods of time without having pain then BAM it would be back. Sometimes it would be sharp and others achy, and somrtimes pressure. I really never nnew what I was going to get. Hope this helps a little.
Gentle, smiles and love.
