I've been flaring up all week due to the hot weather. It always takes me a while to adjust to the heat but summers are definitely my hardest. Do any of you flare up in the summer time? I know a lot of people dread the cold but for me it's definitely the heat that makes me hurt the most.

Members shared mixed experiences with seasonal flares in response to someone struggling with summer heat, with many finding that weather changes between seasons trigger their worst symptoms rather than one specific season. Several members described practical coping strategies including getting doctor's notes for heat accommodations, using hot Epsom salt baths and warm water pool therapy for pain relief, and recognizing barometric pressure shifts as warning signs for incoming flares and migraines. A recurring theme was the exhausting unpredictability of flares, whether triggered by heat, cold, rain, or pressure changes, met with mutual encouragement and the sharing of spoons and positive energy within the community.

I flare when the weather changes from season to season, so my worst flares will hit when it changes from summer to fall/winter and from winter to spring/summer. I also flare the worst when it is cold, wet, and rainy/snowy outside. Any time a 'front' comes through that changes the barometric pressure very much, it sets off my migraines, so that is another bugger I have to control

Luckily I've never had a migraine and seldom a headache. I'm sorry you are having to deal with them. However, I do get flares with rainy weather and changes in barometric pressure. During most of these instances even the Tramadol I take for pain doesn't work. But I have found hot baths with Epsom salts to be very helpful in lessening and/or getting rid of the pain in the legs and lower back. Water therapy or exercising in a warm water pool is also very helpful. My only problem is sometimes I feel too crappy to get up and get dressed to drive to the pool! So I just lay back down and feel more guilt about doing nothing and feeling lazy.
