I had to be careful with amitriptyline is that it made me manic with my antidepressants. As for the Flexeril, make sure you are in bed. I look it and did not make it to bed. My husband had to carry me to bed, but it works for muscle pain. only from my opinion.

Amitriptyline affects some people differently. I was told it would make me tired so to take it at night. I got hyper and couldn't sleep till noon. I started taking it in the morning and then I could get to sleep. In the beginning it made me feel really anxious and then I got used to it. I got anxious a bit each time the dose was increase but now I'm feeling good on it and I definitely have more energy on it than when I was on Cymbalta.

I couldn't take them either for side effects on me but as stated by others we are not all the same.

When i was first diagnosed my doctor put me on amitriptyline but for me it caused weight gain very fast so I asked to go off of it For years after I was on a drug called meps and it worked great. I only took it when I was in pain and it never made me tired so I was able to work. After that went off the market they put me on oxycodone and then oxyneo. I also take the flexeril when my muscles get really tight but my pharmacist said it is best to only take that once in awhile because of the interaction with the other drugs. I often start with an ice pack then hot shower if that is not working and the pain is still really bad I take the flexeril until it sorts itself out.
