Members shared mixed experiences with amitriptyline for fibromyalgia symptoms, with many finding it helpful for improving sleep quality but noting that pain relief varied significantly from person to person. Several members mentioned important considerations including potential heart-related side effects, the zombie-like grogginess some experience the next day, possible weight gain and nightmares, and the reality that bodies can build tolerance over time requiring dose adjustments. A recurring theme was the importance of investigating other potential causes of fatigue such as low vitamin D, iron deficiency, or thyroid issues, especially for those with IBS who may struggle with nutrient absorption, alongside the understanding that finding the right medication for fibromyalgia often requires patience and individual trial and error.

My dear, there are so many medications out there. Each of us gets relief in some way with the meds. But always the fryer Burrell is there always letting us know it's behind closed doors. I am 68 years old I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 45 in California. They gave me a 3x5 little card and said this is all we know about fibromyalgia. Went across the Bay Bridge to Stanford to the library and there I found the same 3x5 card. Oh yes I forgot to tell you after I left the doctor's office I cried for almost an hour in the parking lot. There was no fibro Kings no support and no information about fibromyalgia. So back to your question about am triptyline what may be good for you may not work for someone else with fibro. Unfortunately there is not a magic pill or a magic exercise that will take away our fibromyalgia pain. Support from your family and friends is helpful yet they truly don't know what you're going through. We strive to have a normal life ,, if you are blessed with a doctor or Dr that no fibromyalgia and have patients that have fibromyalgia and deal with those patients the medication and the feelings that they know we go through you would be considered one of the luckiest fibromyalgia patients in the world. I give you love I give you strength I'll give you peace of mind I will be here to hear you to write to you. This is truly a war on fibromyalgia and we are all soldiers in this war when will the war be over I have no idea nor does the medical field. So strive everyday to be the best that you can be. Baby steps that's what it's about just baby steps. With All My Loving Heart Take Care dear

Ditto me too. But without descent sleep I'm fit for nothing. Maybe try ear plugs at night, really helps me as blocking out background noise enables me to really sleep the best I can. Sometimes I wake early but have trained myself to drift off again. Not easy with fibromyalgia but I do feel better next day with not too much pain as long as I sleep.I think having this disease we all have to adapt , good luck and gentle hugs to you.x
