Members rallied around someone experiencing severe shooting rib pain, with many confirming they've had similar symptoms and identifying costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage connecting ribs to the breastbone) as a common culprit in fibromyalgia. Several members shared practical relief strategies, including cortisone injections, ditching underwire bras, massage therapy, and strengthening exercises, while one member noted their doctor believed the medication Savella may have triggered their costochondritis. A recurring theme was the frustration of living with constant pain that others don't fully understand unless they've experienced fibromyalgia themselves, met with compassionate validation and the reassurance that this painful symptom is both real and shared by many in the community.

I suffer with the costochondritis. I quit wearing underwire bras and it helped me with my pain.

Angel🌷, yes. Many of us do, and in my case it’s Costochronditis. Which others have also. Never had it prior to Fibro. It’s easier if you look it up, than me explaining it here. I’m so sorry you’re hurting. It can be very painful at times. Mine comes and goes. I’m sending you healing hugs and positive thoughts for some relief soon🦋🌷🦋, Deb
