Members overwhelmingly agreed that getting an annual flu shot is essential when living with fibromyalgia, with many sharing they've gotten it faithfully for years or decades to avoid compounding their existing pain and fatigue. Several members noted they also get pneumonia and shingles vaccines, with one member recommending mid-October through the end of the month as the optimal timing based on guidance from Dr. Fauci, especially for those over 65. A recurring theme was the belief that prevention is worth it despite minor side effects like a sore arm, though one member shared they avoid the shot due to pharmaceutical sensitivities after experiencing flu symptoms within hours of their last vaccination.

In my opinion it is necessary. Our pain level is bad enough without the flu.

Nope, no flu shot in 14 years cause within 8 hrs I had flu symptoms the last time I had the shot. Won't be getting the flu, pneumonia or Covid shot either. But I'm one of those folks with pharmaceutical sensitivities- no RX for my fibro either. Lucky me😞 another fibro complication.
