I had a laminectomy about 3 years ago. It helped for a short time. The pain came has returned in my lower back and I have numbness in my leg at times. The back doctor says the surgery worked and there is nothing wrong. I have sharp pain in my lower back. I have just given up with the back doctor. Sorry if this doesn’t give you much hope.
