Members shared mixed experiences with Savella for fibromyalgia management, with some finding it helped reduce pain while others discontinued it due to side effects like hot flashes, significant weight gain, and emotional changes. Several members described shifting away from prescription medications toward natural alternatives including magnesium supplements, vitamin B6, 5-HTP for serotonin balance, fruit and vegetable smoothies, and essential oils, reporting better pain management and fewer side effects with these approaches. A recurring theme was the importance of thorough research before starting long-term medications, listening to your body, and finding individualized solutions that balance pain relief with quality of life.

I agree. I was on meds for a could months and gained anout 60 poubds abd fekt HORRIBLE. it just seemed to aggreviate my flares much more. Now ive been off of all medicine and supplemented them for MAGNESIUM VITAMINS and I feel better now than I have ever done on that medicine. Also I started blending fruit and veggies smoothies and that cured my fatigue and some more pain. I have much better manageable pain although I still have bad days nowhere nears as many. Hope this helps

I tried that but no help. Was on Cymbalta for almost 3 yrs and was on Lyrica to have rare severe side effects. My best recommendation would be to do research research research. Especially if you will be on any of them for the long term use. Side effects on your brain isn't good at all and with all the trouble I had with them, I would never recommend none of them & try going the more supplemental holistic way. I believe it has damage my body chemistry from being on them! Yes they do block some of the pain, but is it worth any kind of brain damage or body damage.

I haven't taken it either but it's another SNRI. If it helps it will be a positive think but if it doesn't all those crappy side effects will probably kick in

I thought I was benefiting.however, I was really getting hot flashes and have gained 39 pounds.I can't afford to buy more clothes and with COPD and FB I don't need to carry more weight.I've decreased the dose to half.I've tried just about everything over the past 15 years starting with Lyrica the first drug that the FDA approved for FM.hat was when finally FM was deemed real so a med could be given. It seems like a slow process, but it used to be some never heard of FM and some Dr's weren't convinced it even was a condition,Some still don't.I'm reading more and they think that there may be an immune malfunction from some kind of trauma prior to having FM.I just read and observe here.I'm trying fewer meds and just take Tylenol. There is consistent evidence that narcotics don't help FM pain and may even make it worse.I'm not touching that discussion.I'm frankly tired of Dr's and doing what is helping me.You've probably are doing the same things.I think there are 3 meds for FM.Time will tell.
