Members confirmed that experiencing a fast heart rate during severe pain is common, with one person's cardiologist explaining that elevated heart rate is often a stress response to high pain levels that may require adjusting pain medication. Several members shared practical strategies for managing the racing heartbeat, including low-dose beta blockers prescribed by doctors and placing hands in cold water to help bring the heart rate under control. A recurring theme was the connection between diet (particularly salty or high-carb foods like bread and pasta) and heart rate spikes, as well as the unnerving feeling of being hyper-aware of one's own heartbeat while navigating life with chronic pain.

Yes I do. I had tests done and saw a cardiologist. He said that my heartrate was elevated due to the stress reaponse from my pain levels. He told my family dr to increase my pain medications.
