I got the shot.. Dr. said it will ache for a bit and it did. But get it anyway.
every year--didn't work last year but does most years.
I take the flu shots and have had the pneumonia shots, too. I have asthma.Last yr, caught the flu, it nearly killed me.The shot apparently did not prevent Strain A. My Dr. wanted me to go to hospital, but I didn't.It really took a toll on me and I doubt I'd survive flu again. No one in my home got the flu, except me.I'm the one who washes their hands all the time.Immunity must be weak. When I took echinacea? and golden seal, I didn't get the flu.A pharmacist friend told me about that.
I am a registered nurse and promote and give the flu shot. All the science and research Ive seen promotes the benefits of it.
But I dont take it and also tell people I dont want it. I cannot explain it but whenever I have taken it, I was miserable and unwell for about 6 months. For the whole winter and spring I was between “coming down with something” and “flu like symptoms”. And when I dont get it Ive never gotten a flu.
So my personal choice is not take it. If I had to, I would (immunocompromised loved one I wanted to be around for example). And maybe if I get the flu I’ll change my mind. But right now, its a no for me.
I dont take the flu shot as each time i do i get the flu bad
