After taking the Anthrax shot in the military, I am scared to put anything else in my body. Especially since I know that my Fibromyalgia started after taking a series of shots when I deployed. Please be careful. You don't know what is in the Flu shot. It could be making you sicker. Do your research.
I recommend it it has help me not get severally sick since it takes so much longer for our bodies to heal with the flu
I do as it works for me... If I get a cold it's horribly painful. I don't believe I am more susceptible to getting the flu, but if I do it's just painful.
If you can get a flu shot get one. Fibro does something to our immune system and we can't fight off illnesses like we used to. I try to stay away from crowds.
I don't know if there is anything Fibro does or has attached that necessitates a flu shot (other than that screwy immune system) but I go to the clinic each year anyway as even the strongest immune system can get whacked with flu... and there's some strains going around now that can be really nasty which the jab usually covers too. I do feel like I have flu or flu like symptoms most days anyway and certainly wouldn't want actual flu on top, that would take several biscuits. I get my jab for free anyway as I'm in the risk group (asthma, even though that is nowhere near as bad as it was when I was a kid) so I just have it done when I need to go out to pick up meds anyway, saving me a trip. This time of year I don't want to leave the house for anything... and it's not even snowing or anything (yes, I'm a wuss)
