I have been really struggling with anxiety lately and it seems to be making my pain worse. Is there any tips or info anyone has to help? Tia x

I have horrible GAD and have for years. I have never dealt with depression, but I know people who have. What I used to do was take pills, anxiety meds, and all that, but it still wasn't enough. Then I found CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It is basically you training your brain to think differently. For example.: I am so miserable and my pain hurts so much, I hate living like this. You would change it to: Yes, I am in pain and it hurts, but I am alive, and I am choosing to fight and be happy. It is reversing the way we think about ourselves and our situation. It helps me so much. It is hard to practice especially when things get really bad. That is when I come here for support. Support groups, CBT, meditation, breathing exercises and finding things that take your mind away from the misery all help me. Gentle Hugs.

I read an article the other day about anxiety being linked to children who over do the social media thing on their phones.
Everybody seems to be having a great time out there, except them.
Everybody has a life going on, except them.
Ditch the phones they said.
Anybody with fibro might share this anxiety maybe, because they see everybody else having fun all the time.
My friends 23 year old son suffers anxiety and depression .
My friend says son has this expectation of being happy and being busy all the time...just like his buddies, who apparently have great lives....according to social media.

Honestly therapy has helped me so much in all of this. (Including taking SSRIs) But if that isnt an option you can use: I do a lot of meditation plus breathing exercises. I also got into more caretaking types of hobbies (plants) so that i feel like i have a purpose beyond myself to get up in the morning

For Anziety I use Paxil 20mg daily. Trepiline helped me for 15 years of depression. I don't need that anymore.
