Other than the memory of chemistry classes 20 years ago and the fact the pill itself looks like it needs to be administered using a flare gun. I don't know much about it. Anyone had experience with taking it? Good or otherwise.

Members overwhelmingly endorsed taking magnesium supplements for fibromyalgia, sharing that it helps with muscle pain, cramping, sleep quality, restless legs, and relaxation, with magnesium citrate, magnesium malate, and magnesium bis-glycinate being the most commonly recommended types. Several members offered practical tips, including starting with a low dose to avoid digestive upset, taking it before bed for better sleep, using topical magnesium oil spray or epsom salt baths for localized pain relief, and choosing bis-glycinate over citrate for those with sensitive stomachs or IBS. A recurring theme was that while most members found magnesium beneficial, individual responses varied, with one member experiencing heart palpitations and others noting the importance of finding the right type and dose that works for your body.

I take it before bed and when I'm real achey I take an epsom salt bath so I can absorb the magneisium and reduce the pain.

I take Magnesium Citrate
Magnesium is antispasmodic and helps you and your muscles relax
Remember your heart is also a muscle and you can sometimes be given magnesium in a drip in hospital
As is the action of the bowel ( magnesium can cause diarrhoea)
It is also instrumental in carrying vitamin B6 into the cells

I do take magnesium for fibro and have for a while now. I haven't had any negative side effects, knock on wood, to date. Does it help me I am not sure. I know two of my doctors recommend me taking it for fibro for the bones, nerves and muscles which I feel is fibro. I would have to go off it and see if I feel a difference.
