Does anyone else take vitamins to help with symptoms? I began taking Magnesium to help me sleep. Best sleep ever. B 12 gives me energy. I've since added other vitamins. Hopefully by winter I can be off many of the pharmaceutical meds.

Members shared their experiences with vitamins and supplements as alternatives to pharmaceutical medications for fibromyalgia, with magnesium, vitamin B12, vitamin D, fish oil, and evening primrose oil emerging as the most commonly recommended options for improving sleep, energy, pain, brain fog, and hormonal balance. Several members described successfully reducing or eliminating medications like Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Celebrex by incorporating these supplements, though some noted the transition off prescription drugs required patience and persistence, with one member sharing it took four attempts to stop the last 25mg of Lyrica. A recurring theme was the importance of working with doctors to monitor supplement levels through blood tests, being mindful of potential side effects like GI issues or heart concerns with magnesium, and recognizing that while supplements can be powerful tools, each person's response is unique and may still require some pharmaceutical support.

I take a high dose of Magnisium at night, 2000mg of Fish Oil twice a day and a prescribed high dose of Vitamin D (1 tablet every month) These are what my pain specialist recommended and all have helped hugely! Vitamin D helps with fatigue and pain, magnisium helps with aches and pains and sleep and Fish Oil helps with the Fibro fog.

I suspected my fibromyalgia is hormonal because it coincided with my menopause. I googled on menopause and its natural relief and I came across evening primrose oil which is supposed to help to balance one's hormone. My pain started to ease within 2 weeks after I took epr oil. I started with 3 a day as the instruction says but I have reduced to 2 a day now. In a few months, I will just take 1 a day. It gives my skin a smooth and even tone but it is just a bonus. It is good to compare prices online.

I take Vitamin B complex, vitamin D and magnesium 3 times a week (I used to take them daily but my blood tests showed these elements are very high and my GP said many of us have expensive urine). I find evening primrose oil most helpful, it can be taken orally or applied to the pain area - immediate relief. I used to be on cymbalta, celebrex and lyrica as well as panadol oesto. I haven't had any of these meds for months now and I have much less pain. It was a struggle to get off the last 25mg of lyrica, I tried 4 times at least. Once I'm off it, it feels great. My pain is gradually decreasing, slowly but definitely.
