Members confirmed that fibromyalgia can significantly prolong recovery from the flu, explaining that compromised immune systems and chronic pain wear the body down and make it harder to fight off illness. Several members shared practical advice including staying well-hydrated, resting as much as possible, keeping warm, and contacting a doctor if symptoms persist longer than expected. A recurring theme was that people with fibromyalgia tend to experience illnesses more severely and for longer durations than others, with healing taking much more time overall.

the flu is a major illness in general if you truly have the flu. it takes time depending on your age, your immune system and if you have other things going on! dealing with chronic pain with fibro wears your body down and it does take time to recover from an illness...hope you feel better soon! maybe give a call to your dr. to let them know it's lasting longer than you were told it would last.
