Members rallied around someone experiencing morning hand pain and pins-and-needles sensations, with many confirming they face similar carpal tunnel symptoms that sometimes extend to feet, calves, and legs, often linked to fibromyalgia or neuropathy. Several members shared practical strategies that brought them relief, including wearing wrist splints at night to prevent blood flow restriction, trying Bowen Therapy, using CBD oil to reduce inflammation, and resting hands to avoid permanent nerve damage. A recurring theme was the frustration and fear of losing hand function, with members emphasizing early intervention and self-care to prevent the condition from progressing to surgery or career-ending nerve damage.

Try braces at night and rest your hands. To do otherwise risks damage to the nerves and then you're stuck without the use of your hands for the rest of your life.

Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by inflamed tendons in the wrist swelling from overuse causing pressure on the middle nerve in your arm. A sideways tendon at the base of your hand forms a tunnel through which the median nerve passes along with the tendons that attach to the fingers. Repeat finger movement causes the tendons to swell. The pressure on the nerve is what causes the pain and pins and needles sensation. First you have stop using your hands and put your wrist in a brace to keep your hands unbent especially at night. Then they give you a shot in the wrist from hell, and lastly, there is tunnel release surgery - all of this is extremely unpleasant. Good luck with this because losing the use of your hands is painful and frustrating. You can go out of your mind if all you can do is watch TV and holding a paperback is out of the question.

Yep, I lost my career because of CTS. I had 3 carpal release operations until it was decided that my nerves were permanently damaged. That's about all I can do besides wearing braces at night when the hand are flopped around as we sleep. Dipping your hands in wax help relieve pain but for inflammation it's my experience has been CBD oil, the non-toxic extract of the marijuana plant, a dropper full, 2x a day, morning and night. Other pein killers work but the best thing to do is to reduce inflammation is CBD oil. Hope you get some relief soon and avoid typing and and griping motions.
