Members overwhelmingly confirmed experiencing itchy skin with fibromyalgia, with many noting the itching worsens significantly at night and commonly affects joints like ankles, feet, and elbows. Several members shared helpful strategies including physical therapy to release tight muscles that trigger nerve-related itching, seeing specialists like dermatologists or allergists, and one member humorously warned against googling symptoms. A recurring theme was the frustration of constant itching that's hard not to scratch, the challenge of finding relief, and the gradual realization that fibromyalgia itself may be the underlying cause.

Yep. I have found something that takes it away but it may not be true for everyone. Typically if I itch it is around my joints- like my ankles, feet or elbows. I went to a physical therapist and they worked out the muscles in my calves and the itching in my feet went away. Then I went back and they worked on the muscles in my upper arms and the itching in my elbows went away. Apparently the itching for me is caused by tight muscles that send signals to the nerves and the nerves respond with itching. I never would have guessed that’s why I itched but now every time I do, I go back to PT and it stops within a few days.

Yes I'm having so much trouble with itching skin especially when I go outside in the sun it burns and itches a lot I have tried sunscreen lotion but to no avail it does not help. I have talked to my rheumatologist doctor who suggested that I go to my allergy doctor.
